Red Bank
The proposed Red Bank station would be located at Red Bank Avenue and Front Street near the south bank of the Delaware River. A rehabilitated paved surface level lot, previously used by ferry services to the former Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, is proposed for this location.
The location provides the opportunity for riverside transit oriented development. Residential or mixed-use development is possible on several underutilized parcels of land adjacent to the station, including opportunities for pleasurecraft marina facilities. The historic resources associated with Soupy Island could be relocated to, and integrated with, the Riverwinds complex.
This station is intended to act primarily as a smaller Park and Ride collection point for motorists from the local residential areas of National Park Borough and the Red Bank neighborhood of West Deptford Township. No NJ Transit bus access is planned.
