Woodbury Transportation Center
The proposed Woodbury Transportation Center (T.C.) would be located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Broad Street (NJ State Highway 45) and Red Bank Aevnue. The Woodbury T.C. would be truly intermodal, providing the opportunity for transfers between NJ Transit bus routes, the proposed Glassboro-Camden Diesel Light Rail Line, and the new southern terminal of the SEPTA Broad Street Line. Several traffic generators exist in the vicinity as well, including Gloucester County government offices and court facilities, Underwood Hospital/Inspira Health System and the offices of associated health care providers.
The proposed Woodbury T.C. would be a multi-level structure including:
1) The undergound terminal of the Broad Street Line
2) Ground floor retail space, bus passenger facilities, and parking deck access
3) Upper floor access to an elevated Glassboro-Camden Line station, and a multilevel parking deck.
It is anticipated that the existing retail operations currently sited at the proposed location will be incorporated into the retail space within the Wooudbury T.C. structure, or will be relocated.
Concurrent with the establishment of the Woodbury T.C, modifications intended to improve NJ Transit bus service should be implemented. Bus service levels would be enhanced to support reverse commutation to suburban hubs of employment (i.e. the Pureland, Forest Park, and Mid-Atlantic corporate centers).
Existing NJ Transit bus routes 401, 402, 408, 410, 412 and 463 would be modified to have the north end of the route terminate at the Woodbury Transportation Center. Route 455 would be rerouted through the Woodbury Transportation Center. Access to Camden would provided by the Glassboro-Camden Line and NJ Transit bus route 411. This reactivated route would provide local bus service along Broadway, Gateway Boulevard and Broad Street between Camden and the Woodbury Transportation Center.
Direct access to Philadelphia would be provided by the SEPTA Broad Street Line.
